Archive for April, 2011

This month, Team PunchTab has been hard at work improving the end-user experience and adding capabilities for our fantastic publishers. The first new feature is the Earning Map, which adds context, direction and comprehensiveness to the point-earning experience. The second is the Publisher Dashboard, which adds customizability for website owners.

Earning Map
The Earning Map is an exciting feature that marks every earning opportunity (Facebook likes and comments) at their actual location on the page’s real estate. With these tiny red ribbon markers, users can scan an entire page for earning opps and publishers can guide users strategically through a page’s  content. Over the coming days, we’ll be adding contextual notifications to this feature, as well as new earning opps.

Please do leave us feedback (right here or here) about the Earning Map if you have any. We’d love to hear your thoughts about its aesthetics, its placement, and how it may help or hinder your community-building!

Publisher Dashboard
We’ve also rolled out a new Publisher Dashboard for all those admins eager to manage their own contests and take a peak at who’s been visiting, liking and chatting on their site. Now publishers can create their own rewards and set the duration of that specific contest. They can view the entire leaderboard, which includes all participants who have ever opted into their PunchTab program. And they can adjust basic account settings, such as Tab placement, website name, and passwords.

As several of our users have noted, this dashboard “puts a real face” to the user base and, for everyday bloggers, the service is really a first of its kind that allows them to view exactly who has visited, commented and liked their blog’s content, and when.

We’ll be rolling more features out on a weekly basis–at the very least. So be sure to check back on this blog to hear the latest, and more importantly, leave us comments and feedback!

Launch

Hi all, it’s been an action-packed first few months and we’ve been hard at work building instant loyalty for our beta sites.  But enough about us…

As you know we’ve been sponsoring launch contests for all sites that sign up during our beta (hint, hint). We’re happy to announce the very first winner:

Tommy Chen, come on down. You’re the winner of a $25 Amazon gift card for being the first user to earn 3000 loyalty points on TCWclub. Congrats, Tommy!

Site-owners: start your own launch contest in minutes by signing up now. Show your users that you love them!
