You may have seen the post on Billboard about how Green Day and Nokia teamed up with PunchTab to launch their last big campaign. They needed to drive engagement, traffic and awareness… And the results were pretty compelling.

We thought we’d pass along the results… And maybe get you thinking. How can PunchTab super power your next campaign? Get the full Green day case study, here!

Congratulations, Facebook!

Congratulations to the Facebook team! It’s a historic day for The Valley, with many exciting ones ahead. We look forward to watching your continued growth and innovation. Cheers to all the hard work and dedication that’s gone into your success!

And to celebrate today’s milestone, we’ve added Facebook Credits to the PunchTab loyalty program catalog. So all you PunchTab loyalty members can now redeem your points for credits to buy virtual goods and play your favorite Facebook games. Head to your PunchTab profile and check it out!

Social Commerce Today, a great blog containing news and insights on leveraging social media to drive purchases, published “Pinterest in the Purchase Funnel: Generates 2.1X More Revenue than Facebook” sharing an infographic from Bottica.com. Bottica.com shows that among 50,000 Pinterest visitors, they purchased twice as much as Facebook fans, influenced 10% of purchases and was more effective at driving new users than Facebook.

According to research firm Nielsen, Pinterest drew nearly 24 million unique visitors in February and Experience Marketing Services ranks Pinterest as the THIRD most-popular networking site, behind Facebook and Twitter. 70% of Pinterest users are women so if you’re interested in leveraging this channel, HubSpot has a great guide, “How To Use Pinterest for Business” to get you started.

If you’re already using Pinterest, we’d love to hear how you’re using it to drive business growth (comment below). And don’t worry, PunchTab is anxiously awaiting Pinterest’s API so we can start reward-enabling pins. As soon as it’s available, we’ll be all over it!

You know that nifty giveaway tab on your facebook page? We made look just a little bit cooler. Let us know your thoughts on our new Facebook fan page. (We’d love to hear from you!)

We’ve also added tabs to show off your PunchTab rewards leader-board and catalog. If you’re running a rewards program on your homepage and you’ve connected your Facebook fan page, you’re now showing off which customers are earning the most points and encourage others to get in the game!

If you haven’t started a rewards program on your home website, get to it. It’ll take you 3 minutes to set up and it’s free!

Giveaways for Facebook Pages

Many of you have asked if we can help you run giveaways on your Facebook fan page. Today we’re announcing that this feature is now available.  You now have an easy way to setup a PunchTab giveaway and add it on your Facebook fan page within a giveaway tab. So once you have created your fan page (or if you already have one), just log in to punchtab.com and follow the steps to create a new giveaway and then chose the “Facebook Page” option.

Facebook Wall Posts are here

For the last couple of weeks we’ve been receiving feedback that we should really do something with the Facebook comments that we capture in the rewards section of your site. These would appear only in the user’s news feed and it was always our intention of making these more prominent.

We’re happy to say that we’ve made the switch to Wall Posts instead; this is completely opt-in for your users (in fact they will be asked by Facebook to add an extra permission for PunchTab if they want to proceed) which we like. Having seen the traps that others have fallen into (eg. accidental wall post spam) it’s been long a concern of ours to be able to balance the level of noise generated by our apps and still help you build engagement.

So what does all this mean? If you’ve linked your Facebook page (under Dashboard->Installation on PunchTab.com, see below) these comments will now appear there. If not they will appear on the user’s Facebook Wall.

We will be enhancing this functionality to make the Wall Posts you receive as relevant as possible to the other conversations that are going on at your site / Facebook page over time. In the meantime here are some tips:

1. If you see any comments that do not fit the conversation on your Facebook page you can always hide or remove them.

2. If there are particular users that you want to opt-out of your reward program you can use the opt out feature on the Leaderboard page of your PunchTab dashboard.

This was a heavily requested integration and we are just at the beginning of driving traffic from your site to your social presence(s) and vice versa. Stay tuned!
